Tuning

All pianos need to be tuned, at least once a year but preferably every 6 months even if the piano isn’t being played regularly. Pianos go out of tune due to the change in temperature and humidity throughout the seasons.

Family Business

I am the fourth generation in my family to tune pianos; my father, Mr A. G. Sheargold taught me and his father, my Grandfather taught him as did his father and his father before.

Repairs

A strong basis of my training has always been as a technician as I trained for 10 years in repair and restoration; from fully rebuilding grand pianos to sticking broken keys and squeaky pedals.
